Joint Powers Authority Celebrates Another Milestone for Pure Water Project

Friday, April 10, 2026, the Las Virgenes-Triunfo Joint Powers Authority (JPA) celebrated the groundbreaking and official start of construction for the Pure Water Project Las Virgenes-Triunfo (PWP, Pure Water Project) at the site where the Advanced Water Treatment Facility (AWPF) will be constructed on Agoura Road. just south of Lindero Canyon Road in the City of Agoura Hills.

Joined by many project partners including Calleguas Municipal Water District, Los Angeles Department of Water, Los Angeles Department of Sanitation, Los Angeles Public Works, California Department of Water Resources, Bureau of Reclamation, representatives from the offices of Julia Brownley and Henry Stern. 

California State Senator Ben Allen, a long-time supporter and proponent of the Pure Water Project, provided remarks and presented the JPA with a certificate of recognition for their work to protect and preserve the natural environment around through new, reliable water supplies for our region.
